The Effect of Using Personal Response System on 6th Grade Students' Achievement and Attitudes towards Science and Technology

This study examines the effect of using a personal response system (PRS) on students' academic performance and attitude towards science technology. The is conducted during spring semester 2018-2019 year in secondary school northwestern Turkey. designed as pre-test post-test control group design, with 21 23 experimental group. Science Achievement Scale PRS Attitude were administered to 92 students pilot scale development process. one unit course syllabus called "The World living things indispensable part our lives: electricity." researcher worked two hours week for six weeks. Every after lecture, class teacher made their solve multiple-choice questions paper-based quantitative section this included three tools: Test, Toward Scale, Scale. Although results showed no difference achievement between scores both groups, promising attitudes toward science. In addition, boys more positive about than girls based scale. qualitative component involved focus discussion random sample surveyed an interview teacher. Students provided feedback regarding use PRS. They appreciated peer discussions that instructors facilitated while was likewise enthusiastic implementing his class.
